Local UK Candidates only considered for this role. Contek are working with a client in Birmingham who are looking to add an Offline Programmer/CNC Machinist to their team of engineers. This position would be suitable for somebody who is looking for a varied role spending 50% of their time in the office and 50% of their time on the machine tools. This position will be spending time designing and creating jigs, fixtures, mould tools and dies for a variety of industries. This would primarily be a low volume, one off/prototype environment where each day will offer a new challenge.

Required experience:

  • Offline Programming experience using CAD/CAM packages within a tooling industry (open to different packages)
  • Experience programming online (open to different controls)
  • Competence working to drawings.
  • Ability and willingness to take a project from customer spec to finished product.
  • Able to inspect your own work and track progress to ensure top quality finishes on time to order.

Desired:

  • Apprentice served machinist.
  • Time served engineer with experience working across the shop floor in a Milling role ideally within a Tooling environment.
  • Experience working with low volume components / one offs.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30, Friday 08:00 - 15:30. The hours on offer have a degree of flexibility in them to allow for earlier starts/finishes.
