Core purpose of the role:
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Director will oversee day-to-day financial operations of Record Financial Group.
This role is instrumental in ensuring financial management and operational efficiency of the company. We are seeking an experienced senior accountant to cover a period of maternity leave from July 2025 for 15 months to ensure the smooth running of the financial control function and the team in this period.

We are listed on the London Stock Exchange. The finance team are based in London.
Key areas of responsibility and activities:
The successful candidate will manage the following on a domestic and international basis
• Daily accounting operations
• Monthly, quarterly and annual reports
• Regulatory compliance working with key internal stakeholders
• Ensure appropriate corporate tax compliance
• Oversight of the monthly payroll processes, including annual payroll related returns and share based payments
• Ensure compliance with statutory laws and regulations
• Coordinate the audit process with colleagues
•Assist with budgets and forecasts where required
• Support the CFO in presenting reports to senior leadership and the board
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team
• Conduct regular 1-2-1s
• Direction and involvement in related ad hoc projects
• Responsible for maintaining and improving current processes, procedures and formats, including the generation of ideas to the implementation of new methods of working and the maintenance of accurate system, policies and procedural notes.
Requirements
• Educated to Degree standard
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least 10 – 15 years post qualification experience focused on financial control and management accounting. Important to have a detailed knowledge of UK accounting and corporate taxation rules from a major commercial sector.
• Willingness to learn and input on our international business
• Highly numerate with an advanced proficiency in Excel, and a developed skill in financial modelling perhaps developed through FP&A work
• Professional with high energy an ability to learn quickly and master a new brief
• Flexible to the changing requirements of a fast moving company in the global financial services sector
• Open to learning the business and culture of Record Financial Group plc, our sector and our regulatory context to ensure compliance with relevant standards
• Good communicator; careful listener.
Confident of leading a team of highly motivated finance professionals
• Ability to work autonomously as well as manage multiple projects and to tight deadline (s)
• Confidence and ability to work with senior colleagues across the Group
• Commitment to meaningful continuous improvement with the proactivity to drive ideas forward to improve efficiencies
• Confident of using different technologies in the finance function for example knowledge of SAP Business ByDesign would be useful
• Be available from mid July 2025 for full time work.
