Our client in Billingham is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller. Reporting to the Group Finance Director you will oversee the financial operations of a group of companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management.This is a unique role that will provide involvement in a growing, profitable and highly entrepreneurial business with a high profile and a great track record.It provides a platform to forge a lasting career with future awards commensurate with business success.Responsibilities are broad covering managing the finance team, developing financial strategies, and providing insights to support business decisions. Working for a local entrepreneurial team this presents an ever changing new challenge and would suit someone with a strong technical background someone willing to take a very hands on approach to new development projects. Specific Responsibilities
- Creation, implementation and development of high-quality financial information systems.
- Timely preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, including actual and forecast income and expenditure against budget, balance sheet, analysis of capital expenditure, cash-flow forecasts and ad hoc new business appraisal.
- To assist with the annual audit process.
- To act as the businesses Data Protection Officer and ensure the business complies with relevant legislation.
- Support the Group Finance Director in ensuring that budgetary control is maintained for both capital and revenue budgets.
- Budgeting and Forecasting.
- Tax compliance.
- Cash Flow Management.
- Stakeholder Communication at Board level providing insights and reports to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning: Support strategic planning initiatives by providing financial data and analysis.
Potential candidates should be qualified accountants meeting some of the following criteria
- Proven ability to produce financial plans, statutory accounts, cash flows, revenue and capital plans and management accounts.
- Knowledge of tax and treasury
- Technically strong with awareness of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards..
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a commercial focus.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Starting basic salary will be envisaged as being in the £78,000 to £85,000 range.
