Are you a mechanically skilled technician with experience in high-speed production environments? We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Back End / LSM Necker Technician to join a leading manufacturer in the canning industry, based in Rugby.
About the Role
As part of the Engineering team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and improving high-speed can-making equipment. Your work will directly support the production of high-quality metal packaging used by some of the world's most recognized brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on Back End and LSM Necker machinery.
- Conduct daily checks and continuous monitoring of plant and production equipment.
- Support equipment overhauls, height/diameter changes, and mechanical upgrades.
- Assist with installation, trials, and commissioning of new machinery.
- Complete work orders using the Apriso system within agreed timeframes.
- Rebuild unit spares and manage spare parts inventory.
- Provide training and support to team members and cover shifts when required.
- Operate FLT and perform machining tasks (turning, milling, grinding) as needed.
What You'll Bring
- Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- HNC/HND qualification desirable; electrical qualifications are a plus.
- Experience in the canning or metal packaging industry is highly advantageous.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to support other areas and travel if required.

- FLT license (or willingness to train).
