A respected design & build fit-out contractor is looking to appoint a Pre-Contract Manager at their Guildford office to support the front end of their £1m–£5m commercial projects. You’ll play a key role in shaping project strategy, coordinating tenders, and ensuring a smooth transition into delivery.
Role Overview:
You’ll work across multiple tenders and bids, collaborating with internal teams and supply chain partners to ensure each project is scoped, priced, and planned accurately. This is a key role bridging sales, design, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage tenders from enquiry through to handover, focusing on projects up to £5m.
- Break down scopes and issue packages to supply chain for pricing.
- Work with new and existing suppliers to suit the scope of works.
- Produce or oversee pricing schedules and collate commercial input.
- Attend surveys, mid-bid interviews, and pre-start meetings.
- Support the commercial and delivery teams in setting up secured projects for success.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in pre-construction, estimating, or commercial roles within fit-out.
- Strong understanding of the design & build process, especially Cat A & B.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Highly collaborative, organised, and commercially aware.
- Based within commutable distance of Guildford.
