Renowned for innovation and quality in the automotive sector, we are currently recruiting a skilled and experienced Fitter for Van Conversions to join our team based in Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on professional with a background in van conversions, vehicle fitting, or automotive assembly, who is looking for a long-term role with competitive pay and family-friendly hours.
Key Responsibilities as a Fitter for Van Conversions:
- Expertly fit and assemble a variety of internal and external components on vans.
- Carry out bespoke van conversion work to meet specific customer requirements.
- Use hand and power tools to modify, install, and integrate parts with precision.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality expectations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure work aligns with technical drawings and specifications.
- Monitor and manage tool inventory, reporting faults or equipment needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in van conversions, automotive fitting, or custom vehicle builds.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant production or workshop environment.
- Strong working knowledge of tools, machinery, and fitting techniques.
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in Automotive, Vehicle Mechanics, or related field.
- Must provide own tools required for the role.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work from technical drawings and build specifications.
Hours & Pay:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM β 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM β 2:00 PM
- Rate: Β£16.50 β Β£20.63 per hour
- Premium rates apply after 40 hours
- Outside IR35 β contract via Limited Company or Umbrella
