Here at Optum UK, we are excited to share that we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. We are looking for an ambitious, motivated and inquisitive finance partner to join our highly valued operational finance team. As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be pivotal in driving the business towards achieving its long-term objectives by partnering with our commercial teams. If you are driven by building successful partnerships across the business whilst leading and developing a high performing team, then this could be a great fit for you. This fixed term contract position is to start in September 2025 and is a hybrid working role. Our finance team meet weekly in our Leeds (LS19 6BA) office for collaborative meetings.
What you’ll do
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Management Accountants.
- Manage the production of monthly accounts and assess commercial opportunities from quotes to contract.
- Work effectively at a senior management level, with both finance and non-financial stakeholders.
- Have ownership of rolling sales forecasts for business units, identifying risks and opportunities with suggested actions and analysis.
- Effectively communicate and partner with non-financial stakeholders providing support across the department.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the key business drivers and how these translate into business performance.
- Support on sales projects including financial modelling, operational tracking and considering the multiple impacts of projects on the business unit and the wider business.

Who you’ll be
- A qualified finance professional with a passion for strategic business partnering and leading a highly experienced team.
- A strong grounding in financial analysis, with a broader, commercial outlook necessary to support business growth and key initiatives.
- Ability to work proactively with the wider business and communicate effectively with non-financial colleagues.
- A solution-based approach, results orientated with a desire to drive strategic and commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrated technical skills and experience including:
- Qualified accountant.
- Experience working within commercial or sales stakeholders, providing cost base or revenue forecasting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure to ensure strict deadlines are met and carry out critical decision making.
- Confidence in offering insight and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Previous experience managing and supporting a team.
