We are seeking a highly motivated individual with expertise in Plumbing systems and products to lead our team of service and installation engineers. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out some installation work as well as provide technical support and management to our team of engineers. Our work is mostly domestic, and within a 50-mile radius of the base. Overnight or out of hours visits are not normally required. Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
Overview: This is a new role being created to help manage the growth of our business. The role will require the successful candidate to fully understand the range of products (training will be provided), the planning and challenges faced by the individual engineers on site, and to work closely with the existing office management and owners of the business. The water treatment range includes: Water Softeners, filtration and purifiers, Boiling water taps and ancillaries, Pumps and accumulators, plus fittings, hoses, valves and taps. As an importer and distributor of some of these products, there is also a group of βDealerβ customers that require telephone technical support and rely on expert knowledge to advise on solutions to complex challenges, and the position is a responsible but deeply satisfying position.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support all Engineer functions.
- Communicate technical information and updates to all relevant staff.
- Carry out staff training and appraisals.
- Undertake installation work as required.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic visits to customer sites.
- Provide quotations as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Plumbing Systems (E).
- Good understanding of engineering principles or water treatment methodologies (physical and chemical processes) (E).
- Qualification in related fields β for instance, Plumbing and Heating, Mechanical Services, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology (E).
- Knowledge of sales processes (D).
- Able to work on projects without direct supervision (E).
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Full clean driving license (E).
- Good IT skills (MS 365) and communication skills, verbal & written (E).
