Ashdale Engineering Ltd is a locally owned company established in 1979, trading for over 45 years. We are an NSI Gold accredited company for Fire and Security systems, employing 27 people based in Belfast, including a team of mobile technicians supporting our range of products and services.
Our Fire and Security division is looking for an Electrical Technician to join the team and support customers across Northern Ireland, with occasional travel in Ireland and mainland UK.
The Role:
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire detection and security systems.
- Key duties include:
- Installing and configuring fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.
- Conducting routine maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Ensuring systems are compliant and all service documentation is completed.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to build their career in a professional and rewarding environment. You may be required to undertake work out of hours, including weekends (overtime rate applies), and participate in an on-call rota to support any after-hours calls (on-call allowance and overtime apply when fulfilling this duty). Manufacturer and in-house training will be provided.
About You:
- At least three years’ experience installing, commissioning, maintaining, and servicing Fire Detection systems (post-apprenticeship), ideally with experience of intruder and CCTV systems.
- An electrical and/or electronic qualification to Level 3 or higher, and 18th Edition with hands-on installation experience.
- Experience of working with single phase and 3-phase voltage applications would be desirable.
- The ability to carry out routine preventive maintenance and all necessary tests, fault finding procedures, and repairs on electronic systems including power protection systems following training.
- You must be computer literate with experience of using word/excel software and service software tools.
- A full, valid driving license, must be open to working flexible hours when required.
- A lesser qualification will be considered if you can demonstrate sufficient years of experience and knowledge.

Please note, the successful candidate will need to hold or be capable of achieving relevant security clearances, required for access to government and commercial properties. Core working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 5:00pm with some flexible/overtime hours as clients require.

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week base + O/T, Flexitime, Overtime, Weekend availability.
