A well-established main contractor based in Norfolk, specialising in high-quality office fit out and refurbishment projects. Our client portfolio ranges from prestigious blue-chip companies to independent businesses. You will be working with project values spanning from £1,000 to £500,000. Known for a collaborative and client-focused approach, they are expanding their commercial team to support a growing pipeline of exciting projects.
The Role:
Seeking an Estimator to join an expanding Estimating team, which currently includes two other Estimators and a Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting tender submissions and helping secure new business opportunities through accurate and competitive pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for office fit out and refurbishment projects.
- Complete take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate and compile tender submissions.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing.
- Analyse client requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager and wider delivery team to ensure alignment from pre-construction through to handover.
- Contribute to value engineering exercises where necessary.
- Maintain and update Excel-based estimating tools (open to adopting new systems).
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, ideally within the fit out and refurbishment sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel; familiarity with estimating software is a plus, but not essential.
- Ability to complete full take-offs and tender processes independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Must be based within approx. 40 minutes of our Norfolk office.
- Positive attitude towards flexible and hybrid working, with initial presence in the office to build rapport and trust.
