Exciting opportunity for Interim Public Sector Financial Accountants. Grant Thornton works alongside clients through our Public Sector Accounting team providing expertise in times of challenge and change for finance departments.
We are currently looking for highly skilled and fully qualified Financial Accountants with a background in Year End accounting for contract positions with a wide variety of Public Sector clients in the UK. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our clients' financial reporting and compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide month/year end accounting services.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation of annual reports and other financial disclosures.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Background in Local Government or other Public Sector.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a technical accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial reporting and accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
