A qualified and experienced Finance Business Partner with over 3 years' experience supporting senior leadership across finance, operations, and commercial teams. Proven track record of financial planning, project support, and compliance with UK and international accounting standards. Adept at stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and strategic analysis within fast-paced, project-driven environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of annual budgets and periodic reforecasts, working closely with divisional MDs and commercial leads.
- Partner with project teams throughout the project lifecycle to assess budgets, produce cashflows, monitor financial performance, and deliver post-project reviews.
- Contribute to UK cashflow forecasting and highlight working capital milestones, particularly invoicing schedules on major projects.
- Deliver timely financial analysis and business unit performance reporting to senior management.
- Support in the preparation and publication of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Collaborate with leadership to promote best practice and compliance across the organisation.
- Perform capital expenditure reviews and analysis.
Finance Delivery
- Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in developing and implementing international accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and assist in risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Assist in managing external audit processes and relationships to ensure timely completion.
- Liaise with external tax advisers as required, ensuring compliance with VAT, Corporation Tax, IR35 and other relevant legislation.
- Help implement and monitor key reporting policies, controls, and financial metrics.
Other Duties
- Ensure all transactional finance activities comply with internal policies and legal requirements.
- Undertake additional reasonable tasks as directed by the Senior Finance Business Partner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and audit practices. Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial data and deliver actionable insights. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Skilled user of accounting software; experience with Navision or BuildSmart is desirable.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance business partnering role.
