The EC&I Technician will support the Lead EC&I Engineer in maintaining all electrical, control and instrumentation systems across the site. Carry out both planned and reactive electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance activities adhering to the plant safe systems of work. Assist in delivering the Maintenance Teams KPI's.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
Location: Allerton Waste Recovery Park, HG5 0SD
Salary: £48,000
Responsibilities:
- Fault finding and rectifying problems on electrical, control and instrumentation equipment.
- Be responsible for PPM and Reactive maintenance work, ensuring the highest standards are set and maintained.
- Manage delegated plant area of the Site inclusive of planned outage work and PPMs.
- Ensure all client requirements are met and satisfied.
- Assist with and actively participate in planned outages.
- Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution.
- Complete accurate maintenance reporting within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assist the Lead EC&I Engineer with critical spares ordering.
- Participate in team briefings and toolbox talks.
- Work safely and efficiently to the site safety rules, under a safe system of work.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and implement engineering procedures, instructions, method statements, risk assessments and guidance documents.
Person Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship to NVQ or equivalent level 3
- Electrical HNC – Desirable
Skills:
- Outstanding attention to detail

Experience:
- Calibration of instrumentation (Level, Temperature, Pressure, Flow etc.)
- Fault finding and rectifying problems on DCS, SCADA and PLC’s.
- Control panels and wiring standards.
- Motors / Switchgear cubicles.
- Variable speed drives (VSD’s).
- Circuit breakers / Electrical transformers.
- Awareness of High Voltage equipment
- Ability to read and work from EC&I drawings / documents.
- Experience / knowledge of safe systems of work including permit to work, method statements and risk assessments.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure and working to tight timescales.
