We are looking for a dedicated and experienced individual to step into the newly reshaped role of Deputy Diocesan Secretary. This pivotal position is designed to support and enhance the mission of the Church by providing strategic leadership and oversight across teams that serve and empower our parishes and the wider diocesan community.
As Deputy Diocesan Secretary, you will provide:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Diocesan Secretary (CEO) and the Diocesan Leadership Team to drive the diocesan vision and strategy.
- Operational Oversight: Provide oversight and coordination for experienced domain experts who provide specialist services to parishes and the wider diocesan organisation, to ensure effective delivery and alignment with our mission.
- Project Leadership: Lead and oversee key projects that further our objectives, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to excellence and fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a practicing Christian who brings:
- Experience: Proven track record in a senior leadership role within a complex organisation.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, project management, and team leadership capabilities.
- Values: A deep commitment to the mission and values of the Church of England.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel across the diocese and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
This is an exceptional opportunity to play a central role in shaping the future of the Church's mission in the Diocese of York.
