Groundworker - skilled

Due to continued growth, ICG are looking for an experienced Groundworker to join their team with the majority of work based within an hour of Cirencester. There is no requirement for travel or working away. The work is demanding, and may involve early starts however late finishes are rare. Usual working hours are 7:30am-5pm.

Due to our location and nature of our business, driving is essential therefore we request applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have their own transport.

All offers of employment will be subject to reference and medical checks. The company may also conduct random drug and alcohol testing.

Objectives

Working within policies and procedures, covering all aspects of Groundworks to achieve a high standard of work completed on schedule.

Reporting

Reporting to the director – Ian Chamberlain, * All aspects of Groundworks

• Drainage and pipe laying

• Digging footings, have an understanding of plans and datums

• Shuttering

• Foundation work

• Externals and finishings (slabbing, kerbing, paving)

• Concreting

• Complying with Health and Safety policy and procedures

• Wearing PPE

• General labouring

• Driving company vehicles

• Ensure company property is looked after

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Ability to think ahead and give consideration to the job at hand

• Use of power tools

• Understanding/reading drawings

• Self-motivated, keen to learn, conscientious and prepared to work in all weather conditions.

• Reliable and punctual

• Physically fit for duties around site

Education/Experience

• Must hold a valid full UK driving licence

• Experience in operating 360 Excavators, Dumpers and Rollers or Groundworks duties

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience

• CPCS or Streetworks tickets are an advantage

£120 – £140 a day – Permanent, Full-time, * 28 days holiday including bank holiday (pro rata)
