Position Title: Global Head of Quality Control & Commissioning

Your role
The Global Head of Quality Control and Commissioning will oversee all QA/QC activities for the company\’s global data center portfolio, ensuring the highest standards of construction quality are consistently met across regions. This role involves developing and implementing global QA/QC policies, procedures, and systems, driving compliance, and supporting project delivery to meet operational, client, and regulatory requirements. The Lead will aggregate quality control feedback from regional teams, providing input into design standards, and serve as the subject matter expert for quality and commissioning processes. As the culture carrier for QA/QC, the role will foster collaboration between contractors, create synergies across the program, and establish feedback loops with internal operations teams to improve handover standards and commissioning practices. Additionally, the Lead will set global commissioning process standards to ensure scalable, repeatable design and construction solutions.
What youll do
Global QA/QC and Cx Program Management: Manage global QA/QC and commissioning programs, enabling regional market adjustments where necessary to ensure consistency across all regions.
Establish Global Standards: Define and establish global standards for quality assurance, commissioning, and handovers from DE&C to Operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
Leadership and Guidance: Act as the central point of expertise for QA/QC, providing leadership and support to regional teams, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Develop and Execute Global Strategy: Develop and execute a global QA/QC strategy that aligns with the companys vision, ensuring the highest quality across construction projects.
Standardize Processes: Standardize inspection and testing protocols, documentation processes, and reporting structures to ensure consistency and accuracy across all regions.
Monitor and Evaluate Performance: Regularly monitor and evaluate quality performance across all data center projects, conducting audits and site inspections to verify compliance with established standards.
Identify and Resolve Non-Conformance: Identify non-conformance issues, root causes, and corrective actions to mitigate risks and improve project outcomes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., project managers, design, procurement, operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies) to ensure compliance and high-quality outcomes.
Provide Training and Support: Offer hands-on support and training to regional QA/QC teams to enhance local capabilities and ensure consistent application of global standards.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation by integrating modern quality management tools and techniques into workflows, ensuring the latest technologies and best practices are communicated throughout the team.
What youll need
Bachelors degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Ideally Chartered or professional registration within any of the following engineering disciplines: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical. LEED AP certification (a plus).
Experience: 10+ years of experience in datacenter and/or technically demanding developments focused on Quality Assurance and Control, with at least 7-10 years of progressive management experience in a relevant field.
Commissioning Expertise: In-depth understanding of commissioning fundamentals, particularly in relation to integrating schedules and commissioning for mechanical, electrical, and ICT elements, with experience in Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
Digital Competence: High degree of digital competence, including familiarity with construction-related digital tools, systems, and workflows for QA/QC management and project oversight.
Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead and inspire global and regional teams, driving a culture of quality excellence and establishing teamwork through individual leadership.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of QA/QC practices, construction methodologies, and relevant codes and standards, particularly in data center or mission-critical environments.
Effective Communication: Ability to confidently and succinctly communicate complex technical challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers and contractors.
Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to developing and appraising technical solutions, including breaking down complex issues into manageable components.
Full Project Life Cycle Knowledge: Familiarity with the full project life cycle, from planning and design to permitting, construction, commissioning, and IST, ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout.
Risk Management: Strong organizational and risk management skills, with the ability to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate risks within a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
