A fast-growing EdTech / SaaS start-up is looking for a proactive Finance Assistant to join their small, collaborative team. Offering digital learning and assessment tools globally, the business is scaling quickly and offers great exposure and progression. This is an initial 6-month contract with a strong chance of going permanent. You'll be the Head of Finance's right-hand person, supporting the move to in-house finance operations and helping shape best practice as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices, credit card charges, and staff expenses, ensuring accurate coding and record-keeping.
  • Raise customer invoices in line with local regulations and support international teams.
  • Run weekly AP and AR reports; review outstanding debt and assist with write-off preparation.
  • Prepare payment runs, payroll, and tax payments using business online banking systems.
  • Allocate daily customer receipts, resolve finance-related queries, and support sales teams with invoice amendments.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close, including accruals, deferrals, and prepayments.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly P&L and balance sheet schedules.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records across financial systems.
  • Support both internal and external audits with timely documentation.
  • Manage VAT return records and liaise with local accountants to ensure timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold internal controls and policies.

About You:

  • Immediately Available, start date first week of June.
  • Finance graduate, with at least a year's experience in a similar role.
  • Experience using Xero and strong Excel skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised and able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience working in a small or fast-paced team environment.
