We are working with a leading social housing refurbishment contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of planned maintenance works across social housing properties in South London. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality refurbishments and upgrades in occupied homes, our client is seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who can help manage the financial and contractual aspects of multiple projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established contractor that places a strong emphasis on quality, compliance, and resident satisfaction.
The Role:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager and based from the company's office near Brixton (with flexible working available), you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial performance of a portfolio of planned maintenance schemes. These typically include internal and external works such as kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, and M&E upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and submission of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and project progress reports
- Agreement of external valuations and cashflow forecasts to maximise project value
- Assisting with the preparation and agreement of main contract and subcontract final accounts
- Supporting procurement, contract administration and subcontract management processes
- Issuing and managing contractual notices, variations, and instructions
- Ensuring compliance with internal commercial procedures and health & safety obligations
- Encouraging high performance within the project team and reviewing contractual strategies
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing refurbishment
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
