Are you passionate about developing the next generation of professional LGV drivers? Do you have experience in the LGV industry and a commitment to high-quality coaching? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivated LGV Coach to join our team!

At Pearson TQ, we deliver exceptional training programmes that empower Apprentices to succeed in their careers. As an LGV Coach, you will play a pivotal role in guiding apprentices through their learning journey, supporting them to achieve their Apprenticeship Standards and develop the skills they need to excel in the LGV sector.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver Expert LGV Training: Lead high-quality, tailored training programmes to help Apprentices develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for their LGV qualifications.
  • Assess & Review Progress: Carry out regular assessments and reviews to ensure Apprentices are meeting their learning goals and targets.
  • Mentor & Coach: Provide professional coaching and feedback to guide Apprentices through the learning process and support their development.
  • Utilise Technology: Make the most of modern technologies to enhance training delivery and track Apprentice progress efficiently.
  • Conduct Workplace Visits: Visit Apprentices in their workplace or virtually, offering support, guidance, and assessment as they apply their learning in real-world environments.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain accurate Apprentice records and ensure that all evidence meets the required standards for the Apprenticeship Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualised Apprenticeship assessments and learning plans to meet Apprentices' needs.
  • Provide continuous support, feedback, and guidance to ensure Apprentices remain on track.
  • Monitor Apprentice progress, ensuring they achieve targets and complete their qualification within set timeframes.
  • Ensure that Apprentice work meets the relevant industry standards and internal quality assurance criteria.
  • Use technology such as e-portfolios and online systems to manage and monitor Apprentices' progress.
  • Collaborate with Programme Managers and stakeholders to ensure a seamless and effective learning experience.
  • Conduct progress reviews and provide written feedback in a timely manner.
  • Support Apprentices to develop positive attitudes toward learning and achieving their Apprenticeship.

What We're Looking For:

  • LGV Experience: A solid background in LGV driving and a passion for mentoring the next generation of drivers.
  • C+E Driving License: Essential - You must hold a valid C+E (LGV) driving license to effectively train and assess Apprentices.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: Proven experience in coaching and mentoring, or a willingness to develop these skills in a training environment.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Ideally, you will have training, teaching, or Assessor qualifications (or a willingness to gain them).
  • IT Literate: Comfortable using digital tools and technology (e.g., e-portfolios, online learning platforms) to enhance the learning experience.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Target-Driven: Ability to work in a target-driven environment and achieve learning outcomes for Apprentices.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required, to support Apprentices' learning needs.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience with Ofsted inspections or understanding of ESFA funding requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Standards and experience with apprenticeship programme delivery.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and delivering successful results in a training role.
