Job Description

Optimise by Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading subcontract engineering and manufacturing businesses in our area. Who produce various components for many industries including Aerospace, offshore, and tooling.

They are looking for CNC Machinists to join their team on a full time and permanent basis, joining a team of long servers and some highly skilled Engineers, the successful person will work on varied machinery production jobs and components of various sizes and batches. They are seeking a CNC Turner capable of G-code programming.

Overtime available paid at enhanced rates

Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
  • Select and use appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling for each job
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • H&S Work in a safe and responsible manner. (For own and other peoples safety).
  • Conduct any pre-shift H&S checks as specified; for example: Hoist Crane.
  • Maintain a high standard of workplace housekeeping (5s Duties)
  • Ensure ALL Quality procedures and processes are followed.
  • Use measuring equipment (Micrometers, Vernier, Wall Thickness Meter, Surface Roughness gauge) to check own work.

Essential

  • Machining working under +/-.025
  • CNC Turning Experience
  • Understanding of Fanuc CNC Controls
  • Programming an advantage
  • Knowledge

Apprentice trained Mechanical Manufacturing or equivalent (desirable)

Overhead Crane/Lifting Certification Advantage
