We are looking for Neighbourhood Housing Officers for a temp to perm position in North and South West London, to start immediately.
Hours: 36 hours per week
Rate: £20.58-£20.96/h
Contract: Hybrid role - working in the office and site visits (working outside contracted hours may be required)
The successful candidate will be working closely with residents on various council estates. The main purpose of the role:
- To deliver an integrated generic housing support to tenants and leasehold customers and to work closely with other teams, councillors and Tenants & Residents Associations to achieve sustainable tenancies in sustainable communities.
- To provide a proactive and customer focused housing management service across a designated area and to ensure that the Council fulfils its legal and contractual obligations to tenants and leaseholders.
- To act as a regular and visible presence on estates, taking action to make sure estates are safe and well maintained and provide advice, information and reports on any housing management matter.
- To support the Neighbourhood Housing Team deliver the Vulnerable Residents Offer.
- To work proactively with neighbourhoods to get a good understanding of residents and properties as well as working closely with other agencies.
- To attend external meetings, sometimes after working hours.
Experience / Requirements:
- Ability to communicate with residents in a professional manner, understand their demands and needs.
- Ability to have a flexible approach to each of the residents and encourage them to find their own solution.
- Ability to develop skills, knowledge and expertise to meet resident demands in the neighbourhood, for example:
- Money, Debt and budgeting;
- Resolving disputes;
- Tenancy law;
- Housing Options;
- Employment and skills;
- Health and support.
