The Senior Retail Technology Manager (Back of House) will work as part of the Retail Technology Team to develop and define Pret’s Retail Technology strategy. Working alongside Pret’s IT, operational, transformation and delivery teams as well as key service providers, this role will drive innovation, support key systems, help develop products and ensure Pret is constantly benefitting from the best technology. This is a hands-on technology leadership role, pragmatically engaged in designing, supporting and managing the health of key business systems within Pret. The role will have a focus on point of sale / or Back of House products as required and aligned to your skills.
The Senior Retail Technology Manager (Back of House) will input into Pret’s technology governance process, to ensure that decisions are made swiftly and effectively, giving appropriate balance to strategic capability and pragmatic, real-world solutions.
Reporting to the Head of Retail Business Systems, the Senior Retail Technology Manager (Back of House) will be responsible for the applications, systems, platforms (including both hardware and software) and the associated strategic architecture and engineering principles that will deliver Pret’s Retail Technology landscape.
This role is key in enabling Pret’s wider transformation programme, inputting heavily into both customer and operations technology solutions primarily focused on technology within Pret’s shop ecosystem but recognising that there will be overlap into other technology domains including digital to support Pret’s growing franchise and equity omni-channel business.
The role will manage a team of Retail Technology Managers and EPOS Menu Managers as required to deliver support and maintenance to our retail business systems.
Responsibilities

Assist in setting Pret’s broader technology strategy, architecture, and engineering principles and specifically responsible for Pret Retail Technology Strategy.

Drives innovation across Pret’s retail technology functions, providing expertise and mentorship

Ensures that Pret always benefits from the most appropriate technology choices, with an eye on strategic ambition, speed of change as well as cost specifically in the retail space.

Supports Pret’s Technology Delivery Function in delivering change across a portfolio of programmes and projects

Develops strong relationships and collaborative ways of working at all levels across internal and external stakeholders, including franchise partners and suppliers.

Provides UAT and over all testing of new relases into retail technology as well as managing configuration layer support within the retail technology systems as needed.

Supports and maintains SLA’s for uptime within critical retail business sytems

Helps to create sustainable training materials and encourages operational teams to become product champions across Pret

Delivers controlled change into Pret’s retail technology estate and manages product change requests as well as a backlog of product development and innovation projects.

An expert Retail Technology professional, with proven experience, delivering initiative solutions in a similar multi-site business, ideally having exposure to franchise operating models.

Experience supporting all elements of the retail ecosystem including Back of House, EPOS and digital commerce implementations, loyalty and discount schemes and the underlying data, integration and technologies.
