Town Planner - Infrastructure

Job Title: Planner (13-Month Fixed-Term Contract) Location: South West England – commutable from Bristol, Somerset, and surrounding areas Contract Type: Fixed-term (13 months) Working Pattern: Hybrid (on-site presence required several days per week) Are you an experienced Planner with a passion for infrastructure and capital delivery? Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established organisation in the South West seeking a skilled Planner to join their dynamic project team on a 13-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects in a highly regulated environment. You\’ll thrive in a fast-paced setting, drawing on your strong communication, commercial, and stakeholder management skills. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules across a portfolio of infrastructure projects Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure realistic and achievable timelines Analyse project data to identify variances, track progress, and mitigate delivery risks Utilise planning software (Primavera P6 and/or MS Project) to provide accurate and timely programme reporting Support the programme controls team with cost and resource forecastingAbout You: Proven experience in a planning or project controls role, ideally within infrastructure, construction, or aviation sectors Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively Experience working in highly regulated environments is desirable Available to commit to the full 13-month contractWhat\’s On Offer: Competitive day rate or salary (dependent on experience) Flexible hybrid working model The opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects Supportive team environment with opportunities for professional developmentInterested?
