We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Planning Engineer to join our team. This role does not involve staff management, as a dedicated supervisor is already in place. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities within an engineering environment, a deep understanding of technical drawings, and prior experience in CNC machining and fabrication, ideally within the aerospace sector. Key Skills and Experience: • Strong problem-solving skills within an engineering environment • Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, including material specifications, treatments, assembly methods, and geometric tolerancing • Excellent communication skills • Previous experience in a CNC machine shop or fabrication environment • Apprentice trained or higher qualification • Experience within the aerospace industry Role Expectations: • Review and contract-check all incoming orders entered into our MRP system • Assess production notes and drawings associated with purchase orders to confirm feasibility • Ensure all documentation is complete and confirmation sign-off is recorded in the MRP system • Communicate with customers regarding any requirements that cannot be met • Advise the programming team of any customer-specific tooling requirements to ensure timely preparation • Use the MRP system to plan routings and BOMs, ensuring that work orders are production-ready on schedule • Maintain and regularly update the engineering on-hold log, communicating relevant information to the necessary personnel Skills: • Strong problem-solving skills within an engineering environment • Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, including material specifications, treatments, assembly methods, and geometric tolerancing • Excellent communication skills • Previous experience in a CNC machine shop or fabrication environment • Apprentice trained or higher qualification • Experience within the aerospace industry
