Hyde is looking to recruit an Assistant Surveyor. Hyde is one of the UK’s leading and award-winning providers of affordable homes in London, the South-East and surrounding areas. As an Assistant Surveyor at Hyde, you will be working within our Property Services team to support the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused maintenance services across our housing stock. You’ll gain practical experience and develop the knowledge and confidence to carry out inspections, specify works, and help manage repair projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for individuals who have recently completed a Surveying Apprenticeship or hold a relevant qualification and are looking to take the next step in their surveying career.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Surveyors with property inspections and surveys, both independently and jointly
- Help specify and monitor responsive repairs, void reinstatements, and planned works
- Liaise with customers and contractors to support delivery of a high-quality service
- Prepare and update technical reports, cost estimates, and schedules of work
- Maintain accurate records and input data into Hyde systems
- Support contract compliance and contractor performance monitoring
Skills and Experience Required:
- Basic understanding of building construction and maintenance processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to accurately record data and use Microsoft Office and property databases
- This role requires candidates to have a full UK driving licence and own car
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of housing regulations and compliance
