ARM is working with a leading engineering consultancy, and we are currently recruiting for a Senior Coastal Engineer to join the team on a contract basis, working hybrid in your local office.

About You:

  • You will be a degree qualified civil engineer and must be a chartered engineer to be considered.
  • Your experience will include design on coastal engineering projects that take into account ocean waves, tidal theory, nearshore wave processes and other coastal influences on design.
  • Your design experience will include structures such as flood defence, breakwaters, sea defences and other similar structures along the coast.
  • Your knowledge will include hydrodynamics, wave propagation and tidal flow planning and modelling.

What you will be doing:

This position will be working for a consultancy who provide specialist engineering services to a range of clients. You will be undertaking design work, preparing briefs and scopes of work, as well as supporting on bids for new work, and working closely with other multidisciplinary teams to help deliver designed work to the end client.

This position is a hybrid role and can be worked from the office closest to you with the choice of Surrey, Bristol, Manchester, Peterborough, Exeter, Glasgow and Swansea as options. The expectation is that you will be in the office 3 to 2 days per week, with 3 days to start with and reducing to 2 once you are familiar with the team and the work.

What you can expect in return:

The rate for this position is between £45 and £55 per hour (Umbrella), but we are open to discussing those who are seeking a higher hourly rate if they meet the criteria. This position has been deemed inside IR35.

We can only consider applications from those eligible to work in the UK for this role. The position may require a DBS check, as part of the successful applications compliance process.
