This is a very exciting Business Development Director role within a global organisation. They are looking for an inspirational and experienced Director level person who has experience and enthusiasm in selling advisory and design services in Decarbonisation, Distributed Energy and Energy Efficiency. You will be responsible for leading the Business Development into a very wide range of existing and new large Public and Private sector clients. As well as leading on solution selling, you will be responsible for service strategy, development and integration, both externally and internally for the organisation.
Role responsibilities and requirements:
- Active engagement in national field-based sales with existing and new customer base to communicate and close Energy Efficiency and Decarbonisation design and advisory services including channels proposition development.
- Engagement with account management staff and wider sales team to promote and enable services including Smart Buildings, Embedded Energy, Electric Vehicles, etc.
- Leading the development and closure of proposals and presentations for independent consulting work.
- Managing a sales pipeline and co-ordinating this with operational consulting teams, to include prospecting, pipeline and Orders.
- Presenting to broader management teams and creating a network with other sales professionals in the UK and globally.
- Ensuring that any further delivery opportunity is transitioned into pipeline for the wider business (e.g. capital project delivery).
- Development and execution of an external campaign for targeted market segment.
- Provide mentoring to more junior members of the team as and when required, to ensure a commercially focussed approach.
Key skills and qualities needed:
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree.
- 7 – 10 years’ experience within Business Development and Sales.
- Strong experience and knowledge of selling Decarbonisation, Distributed Energy and / or Energy Efficiency advisory services.
- Experience of both the UK public and private sector clients is preferred.
- Service commercialisation and thought leadership.
- Very strong internal and client influencing and communication skills.
- Accomplished bid development and presenting skills.
- Strong understanding of the real estate, construction and/or developers.
- Experience in developing marketing material to create a compelling vision.
