THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for a fully CeMap qualified individual to join our Business Unit Control Function and provide reassurance to the business that existing controls are effective and that risk is minimised through the delivery of a comprehensive control testing plan. You will be undertaking monitoring activities within the 1st line of defence and testing controls to ensure L&C proactively mitigate risk to customers and to the business. You will be responsible for conducting high level data analysis from across the business and reporting on current/emerging risks to Management and to appropriate committees through MI. The role holder will provide support to the Business Unit Control Function in the day to day management of the Training and Competency scheme. The role plays a key part in helping to ensure the business has effective controls, that processes are followed and that L&C’s customers receive good outcomes.
FCA CERTIFICATION REGIME & CONDUCT RULES
L&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 6 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a CeMap (or equivalent) qualified individual, with great industry knowledge, experience, and a keen eye for detail. Individuals should be self-motivated, self-sufficient and able to manage their time effectively with a proactive approach to work. Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present information effectively, at all levels within the business and with external third parties. Applicants should have experience within Financial services and the sector, and a good understanding of regulatory and legislative requirements and their impact on a business.
