Our client is seeking a full-time Applications Engineer interested in making immediate contributions as part of a growing team that designs and manufactures state-of-the-art RF products and applications. Our Applications team plays a key role in helping our customers succeed in their product designs that leverage our software defined radio (SDR) modules, platforms, and RF sensing solutions. The successful candidate in this role enjoys working with engineers across multiple domains and is comfortable working with customer engineers with limited project knowledge. This role requires both technical acumen, as well as the people skills needed to deliver a superior customer experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams to understand their unique use cases and provide tailored technical solutions.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical inquiries related to the use and integration of our clients Software-Defined Radio (SDR) modules and platforms, as well as the broader software ecosystem.
- Serve as a technical expert on our clients SDR solutions, assisting customers with system and host integration, diagnosing potential integration or usage issues, and delivering clear, concise solutions.
- Develop comprehensive customer application and product documentation.
- Conduct technical training sessions, product demonstrations, and instructional seminars to educate customers on SDR functionality, best practices, and system integration.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in applications engineering, embedded systems, or software engineering, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and debugging complex technical issues.
- Strong technical communication skills, with experience interacting with and presenting to engineering teams, customers, and management.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and resolving application-specific design challenges.
- Deep understanding of hardware and software architecture, including system design principles and integration best practices.
- Familiarity with Defense and Government applications, particularly in areas such as Modular Open Systems, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Electronic Warfare (EW).
- Knowledge of wireless communication standards and their practical applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Matlab, Python, and others relevant to software-defined radio (SDR) and embedded systems.
- Experience working with diverse host systems (e.g., embedded ARM/x86, GPU, VPX, etc.) and hardware interfaces (PCIe, DMA, Ethernet, etc.).
- Fundamental understanding of RF systems and radio transceiver technology to support customer applications and integration efforts.
- Candidates must hold a full and valid UK driving license.
- Willing to travel to Europe and the Middle East (6 to 8 times a year).
- Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be eligible for and willing to undergo UK Security Clearance (SC level or higher).
