Main Responsibilities- Managing the relationship with SCADA suppliers
- Drafting the RFQs and reviewing the ERs and proposals of Site system SCADA
- Preparing initial SCADA design
- Developing detailed comms schematic from CSS and downstream (including meteorological equipment, inverter smart monitoring etc)
- Preparing Cable schedules at CSS level and creating signal list for the SCADA Supplier
- Coordinating with SCADA secondary equipment suppliers related to Grid limitations
- Configure relay settings together with the grid experts
- SCADA Design Experience
- Development of SCADA HMI Systems
- UK NGET and DNO experience (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of relevant BSEN, IEC, CIGRE, IEEE and ENA
- Understanding of Powerfactors SCADA, ABB, Hitachi, SEL, MircoSCADA, Ziv SCADA solutions, GE iFix SCADA
- Understanding of communications protocols - typically DNP3, IEC61850, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104
- Development of conceptual/detailed Interlocking schemes up to 132kV
- Development of Bill of Materials
- Technical calculations and analysis to ensure the reliability and performance of protection and control systems
- Preparing Protection Control Philosophy Reports
- Development of IED and AVC configuration files
- Support Panel Manufacturers queries
- Support on site P&C issues - Red/Green markup drawings
- Attend FAT's as required
- Review Vendor drawings
- Assist and Review of Secondary Design drawings
- Review power system studies
- Development of standard designs/configuration files for 33/66/132kV systems
- Providing design sub-contractors with the information required
- Using CAD efficiently for work related to the above
- Coming from PV background is mandatory
- Minimum 5 years of experience in P&C
- EHV substation project design experience up to 132kV
- AutoCAD
- Excellent knowledge of all published guidelines, ENA standards, policies and procedures, from national and international standards to DNO and EP policies, to ensure satisfactory delivery of work
- Experience with MICOM S1 Agile, PCM600 and Digsi 5 software (not mandatory for the role)
- A sound knowledge of engineering design principles
- An understanding of construction methods
