Care Assistant – required for our luxury care home ‘Selwood House’ in Charlton Down, Dorchester, Dorset, Part of the Country Court Family. Hours: 44 Hours per week, working weekends on rota (Shift Times (Apply online only)) Selwood House Care Home located in Charlton Down near Dorchester accommodates up to 84 residents, and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to cater for various care needs. Specialising in residential care, dementia care, and short-term respite care, Selwood House will provide a warm welcome as soon as you set foot through the door. ABOUT THE CARE ASSISTANT ROLE Within the Care Assistant role, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include: Helping our residents with personal support and care Aiding their emotional well-being and social needs Supporting residents at meals time Interacting with our residents on a personal level Maintaining and developing the residents care plan to ensure their needs are met ABOUT YOU Our fantastic staff are at the heart of our homes & provide vital day-to-day support to our residents, so we would love to hear from those who really do want to make a difference to people’s lives. Be no stranger to working long shifts Have good written & verbal communication skills Able to engage well with the residents and their families Have an understanding of people with Dementia. Experience as a Care Assistant is preferred but not essential Have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social care or be willing to work towards this.
