We are recruiting to our Revenues and Benefits Service. PSPS are on the lookout for enthusiastic team players, who can bring existing skills to our team! Due to recent changes within the Revenues and Benefits service, we are excited to be offering an opportunity for a permanent full-time role within the Debt Recovery team.
As a Case Management Officer within the Debt Recovery team, you would play a key role in our service, ensuring the prompt and efficient billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates on behalf of our client councils. The successful candidate would be part of a team whose main focus is maximising collection of both Council Tax and Business Rates whilst supporting our customers who may need additional advice and guidance to resolve their outstanding debts and maximise their income.
Typical duties include:
- Accurate and timely updating of customer records.
- Dealing with customers by phone, and in writing to provide advice, explanations and clarification of decisions and actions.
- Negotiate payment arrangements to maximise recovery and minimise ongoing, escalating debt.
- Provide support to individuals to seek appropriate advice and guidance where a possible vulnerability is recognised.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous customer service experience in a debt management environment or supporting customers struggling with debt is essential.
- GCSE level C/4 or above in English and Mathematics.
- Aware of Council Tax, Business Rates, and Housing Benefit / Council Tax Support.
- A flexible approach to accommodate changing priorities.
