Contek Recruitment are currently working with a well-known, established precision engineering company based in Tamworth. Due to company performance and growth, they are now looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client is well established and reputable in their industry, has been operating for over 85 years, and serves specialist, high-integrity industries such as Defence, Nuclear, and Aerospace. Working Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) Pay: £36,000 – £39,000 per year, dependent on experience. Duties & Responsibilities: * Obtain quotes in line with procedures and issue purchase orders for indirect/direct consumables and indirect services. * Accurate placement of purchase orders, expedite to ensure on time in full delivery with no invoice queries * Manage supplier relationships. Negotiate with suppliers in respect of costs, discounts, long-term agreements, and terms and conditions. * Prepare and manage annual budgets tightly. * Co-ordinate all on-site and off-site (customers’ sites) hire purchases. * Identify and realise areas for cost downs to budget and lead time. * Expediting externally & internally within the business to assist operational functions in delivering goods and services on time in full. * Auditing of company suppliers. * Any other general administration duties as required. Requirements: * Previous experience within buying/purchasing is required. * Experience working within an engineering environment is required. * A committed, driven, and methodical approach to work. * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. * Able to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision. * Self-motivated. * Good communicator.
