Our client, a leading global trading firm with decades of market expertise, is seeking an exceptional Database Engineer/Developer specializing in PostgreSQL and Oracle to join their London team. You will be responsible for high priority database environments that are part of sophisticated trading systems across multiple asset classes.
Designing of database platforms (Oracle and Postgres) across Linux/UNIX systems. You will own the database infrastructure roadmap and work with top engineers to implement and integrate solutions critical for trading operations. This is a hands-on technical role within a cross-platform engineering team responsible for core technology infrastructure.
You Will:
- Implement and maintain high-performance database environments critical to trading operations
- Design and execute clustering, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
- Drive performance optimization across multiple database platforms
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance database design and usage
- Proactively evaluate and evolve database architecture to meet growing business demands
- Respond to time-sensitive production issues with decisive problem-solving
Your Profile:
- Years of production experience with both Oracle and PostgreSQL database engineering
- Strong UNIX/Linux administration skills
- Deep expertise in database performance tuning and configuration
- Experience with clustering, replication, and mirroring technologies
- Proficiency in T-SQL or PL/SQL
- Experience with MS SQL Server, InfluxDB or MySQL advantageous
