We are looking for a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Financial Control Assistant.
- Ensure that station shift sheets are processed accurately and on a timely basis and validate supporting documentation.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, tax analysis and run VAT reports for review.
- Process station and other shift sheets on a timely basis.
- Identify, report and follow up missing shift sheets and other credit and debit items.
- Undertake checks over the station accounts ensuring the posting of items without debit and outstandings are appropriate.
- Monitor and comment on surplus/loss and substandard accounting.
- Highlight consistent problems to line managers and ensure local supervisory awareness.
- Monitor the continuity of shift documents and ticket machine reports to ensure completeness and safeguard revenue.
- Undertake checks over the station accounts ensuring timely clearance of items without debit and outstandings and monitor surplus and loss recording.
- Undertake station audits.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner, regularly questioning balances with the business partners and providing key areas for attention by the financial reporting manager.
- Complete periodic analysis of legal & consultancy costs for corporation tax purposes.
- Assist with uploading financial information to the company owning group systems.
- Support the finance function as and when required on a wide range of tasks such as accounts payable.
- Complete ad hoc projects as requested by the Financial Reporting Manager.
- Computer literacy is a requirement with hands-on spreadsheet experience.
- Previous knowledge in station accounting or booking office work is essential, together with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and be willing to study to obtain qualifications.
