  • Bank Recovery Nurse for Day Surgery unit:
  • Recovery: Monitor vital signs, administer pain relief, manage any post-surgical complications, and ensure patients are fully recovered from anaesthesia before discharge.
  • Discharge Planning: Provide post-operative instructions and guidance to patients and their families regarding care at home.
  • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Proven experience in recovery care, HDU, and ITU.
  • Experience in Day surgery, including patient admission, discharge, anaesthesia recovery and post-surgical monitoring of both adult and paediatric patients.
  • Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs throughout surgery, ensuring any issues are quickly addressed.
  • Bank Scrub Nurse:
    • Provide assistance in a variety of surgeries such as Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Laparoscopy, and Minor Orthopaedics.
    • Collaboration: Work alongside surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff to ensure high standards of care and patient safety.
    • Patient Monitoring: Assist in patient positioning and ensuring comfort during the procedure.
    • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with active NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Assistance during Procedures:
    • Provide support to the endoscopist by preparing equipment, monitoring patients, and ensuring their comfort.
    • Patient Monitoring: Monitor vital signs during the procedure and assist in patient recovery post-procedure, ensuring they are stable before discharge.
    • Provide patients with post-procedure care instructions, explaining potential side effects and when to seek medical attention.
    • Maintain strict infection control measures and ensure the endoscopy unit is properly cleaned and maintained after each procedure.
    • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Theatre Support:
    • Transport medical equipment and supplies to and from theatres, ensuring everything is ready and available for procedures.
    • Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of the operating theatres, including the safe disposal of waste and cleaning of equipment and surfaces after each procedure.
    • Assisting Theatre Staff: Provide general assistance to theatre nurses, surgeons, and other staff as needed, including helping with patient positioning, holding equipment, or preparing items for use during surgery.
    • Help with the restocking of theatre supplies and the monitoring of stock levels to ensure theatre areas are consistently well-stocked.
    • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all hospital protocols regarding infection control, patient safety, and health and safety standards.
    • Ad-hoc Tasks: Support the theatre team with additional tasks as required, ensuring the smooth running of theatre sessions.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or Theatre setting.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures and infection control guidelines is beneficial.
