Our client works in the offshore, ports and shipping and oil and gas industry and is looking for a number of Offshore Hydraulic Technicians to be based from home and attend jobs on an ad-hoc basis. As part of the Hydraulics Technician position, you work in a variety of environments and on a huge range of equipment all over the world. The company supports the oil and gas, shipping and ports industry, and are winning new contracts globally. Ideally, you will be a time-served apprentice and hold a level 2 or 3 certificate from the BFPA or NFPC.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of hydraulic systems, cranes, and lifting equipment both onshore and offshore.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in hydraulic and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Commission, maintain, inspect, and service various mechanical equipment for clients, onshore and offshore.
  • Prepare detailed and clear reports documenting all work performed.
  • Adhere to all site HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) requirements.
  • Collaborate with site personnel to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
  • Identify and mitigate environmental risks during tasks, ensuring that all available controls are implemented, especially when working offshore.

Skills:

  • Experience working within the offshore/marine industry globally.
  • Level 2 or 3 certificate in Hydraulics.
  • Work on your own or within a team.
  • Work at heights.
  • An in-depth knowledge of preventative maintenance of cranes.
  • BOSIET.
  • IT literate and able to write reports.
  • UK driving licence.
  • Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings then translate this into practice.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with offshore and marine engineering applications.
