This is an exciting opportunity for Consultant and Senior Ecologists to join a dynamic team and contribute to a wide range of ecological consultancy projects:
- Conducting Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Protected Species Surveys, with a particular focus on bats.
- Conducting Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and other ecological consultancy work.
- Producing high-quality reports that inform planning applications and conservation efforts.
- Balancing fieldwork and office-based tasks, with seasonal variations in workload.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members (for Senior Ecologists).
We are looking for passionate and experienced ecologists who are confident in delivering ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation plans while effectively engaging with clients and stakeholders:
- Experience in UK ecological consultancy with a strong foundation in ecological surveying and reporting.
- Associate Membership of CIEEM (or working towards Full Membership for Senior Ecologists).
- Strong knowledge of British flora and fauna, wildlife legislation, and the planning system.
- Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
- Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to support and review the work of others, fostering teamwork and nurturing talent.
- Full driving licence required for site visits.
Additional Requirements for Senior Ecologists:
- Level 2 Bat Licence (highly desirable).
- Proven experience in leading surveys, managing projects, and mentoring junior staff.
