Your new company is excited to announce a recruitment opportunity for a Band 7 medical prescriber/Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the team. Our client provides the NHS111 and Out of Hours GP service to over 4. The Advanced Clinical Practitioner plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a dynamic healthcare environment. Working autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to improving patient outcomes by providing expert clinical decision-making, advanced diagnostic skills, and proactive management of long-term health conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to patient advocacy, health promotion, and preventive care. You will engage in complex clinical assessments, prescribe treatments, and offer expert guidance on medication management, vaccinations, and lifestyle interventions. Additionally, you will support patients in self-care, mental health management, and urgent medical situations, ensuring seamless, efficient, and compassionate healthcare delivery.
- Clinical Decision-Making: Perform in-depth physiological and psychological assessments, prioritising urgent and complex cases while providing emergency care when needed.
- Health Promotion & Preventive Care: Support patients in adopting healthy lifestyles, participate in vaccination programs, and provide family planning, sexual health, and wound care services.
- Mental Health Support: Identify, assess, and refer patients with mental health concerns, ensuring they receive appropriate care and intervention.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Essential criteria: NMC Registered Nurse/HCPC Registered Paramedic, MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent credentialing, Minor illness (university accredited), Minor Injury (university accredited), Prescribing certificate, Triage/streaming experience, Evidence of working with a variety of patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions of any age, Experience of working as a team leader, Demonstrate working within the 4 pillars of advanced practice.
- Desirable criteria: Experience managing end-of-life care patients, including prescribing/administering medications such as Just in Case medications, Experience in Family Planning, Experience in managing chronic conditions, Experience of working in an Emergency Department /UTC / GP, Evidence of audit or research experience, Experience in reviewing x-ray.
