Alchemy Global Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading Fine Art Shipping company to recruit a Crating Manager based in Sydney, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class team specialising in the safe transport of paintings, artefacts, and museum objects for institutions worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the crating production team and workshop operations.
- Oversee internal and external client relationships with strong communication and customer service skills.
- Handle the safe packing and transportation of fine art, museum objects, and high-value items.
- Ensure museum-standard crate construction, including interior fitouts.
- Manage cost estimations, budgeting, and expenses efficiently.
- Supervise artwork handling, packing, and installation processes.
- Maintain high standards of quality control and health & safety compliance.
- Train and develop team members, ensuring best practices in handling and packing.
- Collaborate with galleries, museums, and institutions to meet client expectations.
- Ensure attention to detail in all crate production and packing activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fine art crating and leading a team.
- Proven expertise in museum-standard crate construction, packing, and interior fitouts.
- Strong ability to estimate costs, manage budgets, and oversee project expenses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Physically fit and capable of handling all aspects of the role.
- Must have a clear police record for visa and relocation purposes.
