Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with a passion for renewable energy? This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation and play a vital role in maintaining and supporting solar PV systems across the South Central region.

About the Role:

  • As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and testing of solar PV systems, primarily ground-mounted installations.
  • This role also involves occasional supervision of third-party contractors and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Perform routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on solar PV systems.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance in line with annual plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including site-specific risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of electrical testing for audits.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of third-party contractors.
  • Provide detailed reports of activities using CMMS or manual reporting systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry best practices, company procedures, and legal standards.

About You:

  • You are a highly skilled and motivated professional with substantial experience in solar PV operations and maintenance.
  • A full UK driving licence is required, as this role involves travelling to various sites within the region.
  • Qualification in an electrical, mechanical, or engineering discipline.
  • City & Guilds 2399-13 (Solar PV Installation) and 2399-14 (Solar PV Maintenance) or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in network diagnostics and remote communications.
  • Expertise in LV/HV planned preventative maintenance and G59 compliance.
  • Strong understanding of central and string inverters, with relevant manufacturers' training.
  • Familiarity with earthing systems and power electronics.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
