We are working with a well-established property management company that manages a large portfolio of properties on behalf of local authorities. They are now looking for a reliable and proactive Rent Collection Officer to join their team.

About the role

This is a hands-on role that involves visiting tenants, following up on rent payments, and providing guidance and support to ensure rent accounts are up to date. You will be part of a busy and supportive team, and will play an important role in maintaining strong tenant relationships. The role involves regular travel (all within London), so you will need to be confident visiting tenants and dealing with any rent-related issues calmly and professionally. A solid understanding of housing benefits (especially Universal Credit) will be useful.

What you will be doing

  • Visiting tenants to follow up on rent arrears and support rent collection
  • Helping tenants understand and manage their rent accounts
  • Assisting tenants with housing benefit and Universal Credit queries
  • Checking and updating rent-related documents
  • Maintaining communication with tenants, the internal team, and external agencies
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies

What we are looking for

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Experience in property management or a similar field is helpful
  • Good knowledge of housing benefits (especially UC) preferred
  • Strong communication skills - calm, clear and confident
  • Able to handle sensitive or difficult conversations professionally
  • Organised, reliable and able to work independently

Salary & benefits

£25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

Monday to Friday, 9:15am - 5:30pm
