Job Description SEND Teacher - Secondary Southwark, Lambeth & Surrounding Boroughs

Full Time Daily pay: £145-£205 (depending on experience)

Are you a qualified Teacher ready to take the next step into the world of Special Educational Needs?

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join secondary SEN schools across Southwark, Lambeth and neighbouring boroughs. These schools specialise in supporting students on the Autism Spectrum, including both verbal and nonverbal pupils, as well as students with Complex Needs.

Our partner schools are inclusive and nurturing environments that tailor learning experiences to each individual. By creating autism-friendly classrooms and providing targeted interventions, staff work hard to ensure every student can access the curriculum and reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across subjects such as Maths, Communication, Science, Music, Humanities, PSHE, and Play.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning and behavioural needs.
  • Foster a calm and supportive classroom environment to enable meaningful progress.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and parents.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • QTS, PGCE, QTLS, or equivalent Teacher Training
  • A degree in any subject
  • Previous experience working with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Conditions, Complex Needs, and Challenging Behaviour
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
