Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Building Test Technician to join their expanding team. This role is ideal for someone practical and detail-oriented with a good understanding of building services and a strong desire to learn and grow within a technical environment.
This is a hands-on position where you will be attending a variety of residential and commercial sites to perform building-related testing. Prior testing experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, some knowledge of building services (e.g., HVAC, ventilation) would be highly beneficial.
As a Building Test Technician, you will visit construction and commercial sites to carry out compliance-related testing. You’ll need strong communication skills, confidence working on live sites, and the ability to learn new technical procedures quickly. This role offers excellent long-term career development for someone with the right attitude and foundation knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out technical testing activities on various construction and commercial sites (full training provided)
- Communicate professionally and clearly with clients and site personnel
- Complete all reporting and results using internal Windows-based systems (no admin required from home)
- Maintain testing equipment and company van, ensuring all tools are in good working condition
- Follow all health and safety and company policies and procedures
What They Are Looking For:
Essential:
- Good understanding of building services (e.g., HVAC or similar)
- Over 25 years old or minimum 2 years driving experience (due to insurance requirements)
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness and ability to learn and develop technical skills
- Comfortable working on active construction and commercial sites
Desirable:
- Located in North London or with good access to the area
- Previous experience in any kind of building-related testing (domestic or commercial)
- CSCS card
- Background in the trades or ex-military experience
