We are looking for a Lead Business Architect to drive enterprise-wide business architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment between business strategy, technology solutions, and operational capabilities. You will be a functional translator between technical and non-technical areas of the business, with timely architectural designs and assurance. You will be proficient in translating business challenges into technical solutions, firm in your engagement and ensure the right level of challenge exists as requirements are presented. You will be comfortable in questioning established ways of working when engaging with business partners and senior business colleagues across all functions of the organisation. However, you will also understand what the business is trying to do and translate it appropriately. You will be adept in responding to challenges with solutions, not restating the problem. You will have experience in operational IT and particularly in FMCG or CPG industries. You will recognise the need for an AMOs independence and act impartially between competing business units, including IT.
You will lead a team of Principle Solution Architects and Solution Architects who will be aligned to line-of-business profit and loss centres within the organisation, designing solutions against requirements and being the interface of the Architectural Management Office. You will work closely with PMO, however ensure that we adhere to AMO objectives of precedence sequencing and requirements and not scheduling. You will hold responsibility for the opex and capex health across solution proposals within your domain. You will ensure activity across the 18-month solution roadmap is clear and being delivered against, providing incremental planning updates to the Director of EA & Technology Strategy on a quarterly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the business capability model to align with strategic objectives.
- Define and implement business architecture frameworks, governance, and best practices.
- Ensure that business is conducted properly with guidance and equitable use of resources to ensure sustainability of our business strategy. Value discipline, transparency, independence, accountability, responsibility and fairness.
- Define and maintain KPIs of the organisation ensuring they are meaningful to the wider organisation.
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements, considering factors like value, productivity gains, scalability, supportability and appropriateness.
- Ensure key artifacts are in place from principles, strategy, policies/standards, high- and low-level designs.
- Conduct Business Impact Assessments to evaluate potential effects of solutions on the architecture.
- Identify and be well versed in the business processes that exist within the organisation and solutions.
Key requirements:
- Highly experienced in business roles, enterprise change, or strategy consulting (ideally around 8 years).
- Awareness of a broad range of technology solutions across OT and IT.
- Understanding of the industry and its specific challenges and opportunities.
- Experience in enterprise systems, programme and demand management.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Desirable business capability modelling, BPMN, process frameworks, and operating models.
- Ideally with FMCG or CPG organisations practicing enterprise architecture.
- Certifications in TOGAF, BIZBOK, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or similar frameworks are a plus.
