The large team advises NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and medical defence organisations on wide ranging and important issues. The team is strengthened by former doctors, nurses and other clinicians and is recognised for its expertise in the healthcare field. The successful candidate will undertake a wide variety of Healthcare Litigation work (including Clinical Negligence matters) for the NHS and other public and private healthcare providers. There may also be the opportunity to undertake client secondments.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • drafting of reports to clients
  • preparation and attendance of trials and mediations
  • interviewing of witnesses and drafting of statements
  • cost management
  • multi-party litigation
  • ADR/mediation agency arbitration
  • Negotiation of settlement

If you are already qualified, experience of Clinical Negligence matters (and wider Healthcare Litigation issues) is required. If you are newly-qualified, ideally you will have at least undertaken a seat in either defendant or claimant Clinical Negligence. Any other Healthcare-related seats which you have undertaken would obviously be of interest, but by no means essential to be considered for this role.
