Rolls-Royce are looking for people with a strong background in Systems Design & Integration to join the team in Derby.

Our Systems Design Integration engineers are responsible for problem resolution, defining requirements and designing and integrating products & systems. They perform concept level technical analysis to verify potential solutions.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Apply understanding of NSRP and wider Nuclear product operation, product systems, sub-systems and interactions.
  • Integrate and manage interfaces.
  • Design of systems using Systems Engineering principles including the use of Robust Design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.
  • Applying knowledge of the importance of determining, managing & flowing system level requirements.
  • Planning and management of product change, design technical approval and technical investigations.
  • Verifying that the system meets the requirements and ownership of standardisation reports.
  • Good inter-personal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate with and influence all levels including the customer.
  • Work with and co-ordinate extended (i.e. not necessarily co-located) multi-disciplinary teams.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or master's in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.
  • An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.
  • Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
