A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Junior Pre Con Manager from a fit out background for a Manchester based contractor. The requirement is for an up and coming Junior Est or Junior QS who has experience working on Cat A & Cat B fit out projects. Projects are located throughout the North West and will be predominantly office and education fit outs. Projects can range in value from £20,000 - £3.5M. You will have a construction related degree and have 2-3 years experience.

Description:

To assist the pre construction team in winning work via a tendering exercise and seeing them through to hand over to the construction team including placing all subcontractor contracts and execution of client contracts.

Typical Activities:

  • Meeting clients and taking their brief for directly negotiated projects.
  • Breaking down competitive tender packs from clients to price and delegate actions within the team including design, build, H&S, sustainability and commercial.
  • Working to deadlines for submissions and managing progress of the above.
  • Undertaking take off, schedules of work and creating subcontractor enquiries or client pricing documents.
  • Commercial negotiations with clients and supply chain.
  • Understanding the clients needs, having a very friendly, positive and 'can do' attitude with clients and work colleagues.
  • Site visits with clients and supply chain to review works.
  • Using excel, word, MS project, take off software and internal reporting software to manage daily activities on reporting, commercials and progress.
  • Managing time for yourself and the team.
  • Being organised and keeping on top of all correspondence including emails.
  • Being a competent member of the team and working collaboratively with all colleagues.
  • Understanding that when deadlines are due, sometimes additional effort and time is required to get the activities over the line.

Interviews are available W/C 19th and a start can be organised as soon as it suits both parties.
