People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer, ideally with an Electrical bias to join our well-established client based in Manchester on a full-time permanent basis. Day to Day Duties
As a Multi skilled Engineer your duties will be:
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical PPM activities in accordance with set schedules
- Ensuring engineering standards are maintained to maximize the operational effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems
- Ensuring on-site quality assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects
- Maintaining accurate records/documentation associated with the PPM and plant maintenance, aiming to achieve and maintain standards of quality compatible with ISO 9002
- Responding promptly and effectively to all electrical and mechanical-related reactive maintenance issues
- Diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical and mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, sensors, and control systems
- Coordinating visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with electrical and mechanical aspects of the PPM schedules
- Conducting fault diagnosis and repairs on systems including Heating, Ventilation, and Building Services
- Assisting with the installation, modification, or commissioning of new equipment as required
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies
- Completing accurate time-sheets and reports as required by management
- Adhering to security policies and procedures
- Other duties as requested
Essential Skills
It is essential as a Multi skilled Engineer that you have:
- Completion of a nationally recognized electrical or mechanical apprenticeship
- 18th Edition wiring regulations (or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Desirable Experience
It would be desirable as a Multi skilled Engineer if you have:
- HNC/HND in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical)
- PLC fault-finding or programming qualification
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
