A well-established fleet maintenance provider in Leicestershire is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their growing team. This role offers a structured 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, strong benefits package, and the opportunity to work on a mix of in-house and external commercial vehicles. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Prepare vehicles for MOT in line with DVSA standards
- Respond to unplanned defects and driver-reported issues
- Conduct brake testing and minor body repairs
- Provide mobile repairs or servicing via company service van when required
- Accurately complete all associated paperwork (using Blue Crystal system)
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Relevant qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, IRTEC accreditation)
- Proven experience in commercial vehicle maintenance and diagnostics
- HGV Category C or C+E licence (preferred)
- Experience with double-deck trailers and tail lifts (desirable but not essential)
- Ability to conduct PMI inspections and MOT preparation
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
